Leicester City in the Community to host Green Swap Shop at Highcross on 29th March
In support of Green Football's Great Save campaign, Leicester City in the Community are hosting a Swap Shop in Highcross Shopping Centre on Saturday March 29th. The event, where members of the public can bring old clothing, including sportswear, and swap it for an item of more use, will run from 10am and running until 5pm. You can find us opposite Footlocker, on the ground floor of Highcross where the entrance to Debenhams used to be, on Saturday 29th
March.
Clothing donations are being collected in the lead up to the event too, and will be accepted at the Customer Service Desk at Highcross, and both Foxes Fanstore locations (in Highcross and at King Power Stadium) from tomorrow onwards. These donations will then be sorted and displayed at the Swap Shop on the 29th
where members of the local community can browse for new items.
Our goal, alongside Green Football, is to reduce the amount of clothing and sports equipment going to landfill, and to extend the lifespan of items by providing them to people in the community who will benefit from them the most. Any items left over from the event will be donated to LOROS, to ensure each donation has an impact.
Items we are accepting include:
Clean and in good condition adult, child and baby clothes
- Shirts, trousers, jeans, dresses, skirts, blouses, saris, jilbabs, coats, jackets, jumpers, pyjamas, hoodies, hats, turbans, headscarves/hijabs, gloves, scarves, socks, shoes
We will also accept accessories
- Ties, belts, suspenders, jewellery, handbags
Adult and child sportswear and protective wear
- Football and other sport shirts, shorts, socks, leggings, caps, shinpads, kneepads, trainers, football boots, astroturf boots
Things we will not be accepting include items such as:
- Any damaged or soiled items
